The mission of Saint Elizabeth School is to provide students with the opportunity to reach their full potential in a Catholic school atmosphere of hope, love, and trust.
We strive to mold our students into whole persons in whom attitudes, habits, knowledge, rooted in the Gospel values are developed in tandem with academic achievement. School programs are continually evolving and specifically targeted to meet the needs of a diverse and changing Washington Heights.
St. Elizabeth’s School promotes a family-like environment where all members of the school community – parents, teachers, administration, and staff – participate in the development of the children.
Since 1936, Saint Elizabeth School has served students and families in Washington Heights. For over 80 years our school has continued to mold our students into saints and scholars!
Built by the Saint Elizabeth Church community in 1936, Saint Elizabeth School rose to meet the needs of the growing Catholic community in Washington Heights. Origioanlly making our home on the corner of Broadway and 187th, a fire in 1947 created the need for a new building to serve our community. In 1949 our current building opened and continues to serve families in Washington Heights!
