Dear St. Elizabeth School Families,
We are happy to announce that Mr. Matthew Stark will be the next principal of St. Elizabeth School. Mr. Stark is an experienced Catholic educator who has previously taught in elementary school and high school in the Manhattan Region of the Archdiocese of New York.
Mr. Stark is currently the Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs at La Salle Academy where he also served as an English teacher. Before teaching at LaSalle Academy, Mr. Stark was a teacher at Immaculate Conception School in Manhattan. Mr. Stark has a Masters of Science degree in English and is currently in the Fordham University School Building Leader Program.
During the next month, Mr. Stark will be working with Mr. Frega to affect a smooth transition of leadership. We are grateful to Mr. Frega for his years of dedicated service to St. Elizabeth School, and for shepherding the school community through the challenges of the pandemic.
We would like to thank Sr. Anne Massell, the Associate Superintendent for Leadership, Fr. Ambiorix Rodriguez, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Parish, and the members of the Search Committee for their assistance in this process.
We pray to the patroness of the Manhattan Region, St. Frances Xavier Cabrini, for a smooth transition of leadership, for Mr. Stark’s success, and Mr. Frega as he starts a new chapter in his life.
With prayers,
Anthony Biscione
Manhattan Region Superintendent
